Indian political strategist and writer Chanakya once wrote, “The earth is supported by the power of truth; it is the power of truth that makes the sun shine and the winds blow; indeed all things rest upon truth.” What is your truth? Do you embrace it or run from it?
Just as the sun is the source of all energy and life, our soul is the center of our emotional universe. The health of the soul dictates how we react to our surroundings. In Tears of the Sun, I strive to conceptualize that energy, and how it emanates from the soul. Notice how the tears vary in size and color – from bright and bold to subdued and subtle. Here, the sun’s expression is a release of all that manifests in tears. From time to time the soul must expend some energy, either through tears, laughter, prayer, sorrow, or any of the myriad of human emotions we express. Memorial Day is our reminder to reflect. Let the image of the sun’s tear further prompt you to release.
